Hammering On is the studio of Edward Rothschild. I have created jewelry for well over 50 years - with a long hiatus! Having studied with master craftsmen such as Aniello Schettino and Fred Fenster in the past, and most recently with Wendy Thurlow, I have re-taken up the craft of silver and goldsmithing over the last few years.
The ways that metals can be shaped, formed, and finished are wonderful, and each piece is unique. To me, pieces must be wearable. Not just artworks. Form follows function. With degrees in geology, I can’t help but be intrigued by interesting stones and integrating them into my work. I continue to explore new techniques and to experiment with a variety of materials.
